Primark regularly brings about changes and updates to its shopping rules, as well as its stock. Earlier this week, the discount retailer announced it will be urging customers to continue wearing masks from July 19. It also confirmed it will be offering vaccinations to shoppers in some stores.
Primark is doing their part to curb the spread of coronavirus. The clothes retailer has launched an initiative to encourage more Britons to get vaccinated. Today, customers can enter some Primark shops across the country to receive their first or second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The company has partnered with NHS England to bring about the change. READ MORE: Prince Harry 'shows signs of guilt' as he gives update on Lilibet(C) GETTY Primark
However, customers must be fast as it is only available today, July 18. The service was also on offer yesterday, July 17.
The Primark branches in both Bristol and Leeds will be offering vaccinations to shoppers today. Dr Nikki Kanani, the NHS medical director for primary care, commented on the move. She said: "You can pop into Primark, enjoy the sun in the park, and explore the art at the Tate, while also protecting yourself and your loved ones by getting a vaccine this weekend.
"From high street shops to mosques and sports grounds, our incredible staff together with our wonderful volunteers are doing all they can to make sure it is easier than ever for people, particularly young adults, to get protected." Dr Kanani added: "We have made phenomenal progress so far, as part of the biggest and fastest vaccination programme in our history, with more than half of people aged 18 to 29 having already had their first vaccine and over 29 million adults have received vital protection. "As we approach July 19, there has never been a more important time to get your first vaccine.
"It not only protects you and your family but also your friends and those around you." There is no need for customers to book - they need only walk into Primark and they will receive the vaccine immediately.(C) EXPRESS Supermarket delivery slots
England will ease all coronavirus rules from Monday, July 19. This means the legal requirement for wearing a face mask will end.
However, some shops in the UK, including Primark, has announced it will continue to urge customers to wear a face covering on entry to stores. A Primark spokesperson said: "We want our customers and colleagues to continue to feel safe in our stores. "Even though it will no longer be a legal requirement, we hope that people will continue to think of others and wear a face covering if they can.
"Across all of our stores in England we will continue to offer hand sanitisation stations, have Perspex screens up at our tills and operate an enhanced cleaning programme, to help keep everyone safe."
