Tesco Clubcard holders have been forced to pay more for discounted items due to a sale glitch. Shoppers on social media have voiced their disgruntlement at not having discounts applied while ordering online. Discounts and savings aren't being made on some orders online, mainly Click and Collect deliveries, they say.
One on Twitter wrote: "Hi @Tesco I've just had my shop delivered but I'm trying to work out how to get the Clubcard prices? "These haven't been knocked off my bill and my Clubcard is registered with it. Can you help?"
"I didn't get Clubcard prices on my online shop I collected today... charged full price!" a second said. "Clarification on how the clubcard prices for delivery work? I am a clubcard member, ordered a few items with the promotion but they arrived with full price charged," added a third.
Tesco said it has now contacted all affected customers and has offered them a GBP10 off e-voucher as a gesture of goodwill.
Tesco said: "We're really sorry but, due to a technical error, the Clubcard Prices discount on your purchases and your Clubcard points were not added to your account. "We will email you a GBP10 e-coupon for Tesco online grocery to cover the missing Clubcard Prices saving and make sure that the Clubcard points you are owed are also added to your account." A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, due to a technical error a very small proportion of people didn't have their discount applied," said a spokesperson for Tesco.
"We're really sorry this happened, and we have contacted those affected and issued them with an e-coupon to cover this."
